Hi, I’m Leila!

I’m a Black, queer full-spectrum doula based in Oakland, CA and serving the wider East Bay. I provide sliding scale doula services rooted in autonomy, self-knowledge, evidence-based practices, and holistic health.

My approach

Birth is a transformative process, in mind, body, and spirit. I believe you have the right to be an active participant and driver of your birth story, and I hope to equip you with the tools and support system to move through pregnancy, labor, and birth on your terms.

Some primary tools include evidence-based information on physiological birth, consistent informed consent, and creating foundational trust in yourself, your body, and your birth team.

From pregnancy to postpartum, my goal is to advocate for you, provide you access to all of the information, process the feelings that come with such a vulnerable period of life, and offer hands-on physical support in whatever way feels comfortable for you.

“I was in labor for three days, and I can’t imagine how I would’ve managed without Leila. She is the support every person deserves during this process. She listened to my needs and helped me create a birth plan that reflected my personality. At the hospital, she advocated for me fiercely, pushing for alternatives that aligned with my wishes, even when the medical team repeatedly fear-mongered. Postpartum, she offered invaluable advice that helped me process my labor experience and navigate lactation. I am incredibly grateful that I had her by my side.”
